Sam Byers was born in 1979. He is a graduate of the MA in Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia. His writing has appeared in Granta and The New York Times. He regularly reviews books for the Times Literary Supplement. His first novel, Idiopathy, was selected to be one of the Waterstones 11: an annual list of the best debut novels of the year, and has been translated into several other languages.
